Having spent the past 16 years in the advertising industry, he is currently freelancing full-time as a Visual/Artistic Director for various tvc production houses and occasionally with multinational advertising agencies.

This is his first book cover design attempt on a book entitled ‘Bubble Value at Risk’, written by risk management expert Max C.Y. Wong.

An interesting ‘The Making Of’ page showing the very meticulous and pain staking effort involved in creating the book cover can be viewed here.

The team bought 5 units of model toy boats. 3 units "went down" to the bottom of the sea. Using cement and paint, the prop maker gives the wreckage a realistic touch, completed with a broken hull, rusts, corals and scattered debris. The wreckage measures approx 50cm x 80cm.

Here, each element will be photographed separately using a high resolution digital camera. Using a huge glass tank, small tidal waves were created for the shots. Bubbles, light rays, water surface, wreckages, container ship, etc. were shot individually. On average, about a hundred shots are needed for each element to obtain the best take.

The lateral thinker Si-Yeon Min of Allied Operations, released a book on creativity.

Using an easy-to-follow interview format, the author lays out his ideas on how off-the-wall thinking can lead to genuine discovery. He shows the reader the importance of living one’s life outside of fixed perspectives. The author hopes that readers will learn how to look at the world from a different perspective and live life free from the imperative of so-called “efficiency.” Many are fixated on finding “the correct answer” and are afraid of how they’ll look to others if they come up with an idea that nobody else can understand. But the best ideas tend to emerge from free and hindrance-free environments, and even the most “off-the-wall” idea can go from “the field” to real life by trial-and-error, becoming a unique brand of its own.

Twenty-five volumes of Interview with Delicious Storm have been printed in a limited edition. Each cover design features a different color, somewhat like art pieces, so that it can prolong physical form as a book in a digital era. One of the book’s featured characters is a stuffed rabbit from a toy company in London (the copyright was granted free of charge!).

The book’s overall look and feel is consistent with the author’s playful and idiosyncratic spirit as well as the book’s subject matter. The book is recommended for creative-minded teenagers and anyone in a field that requires inventive thinking.

Contributors: Bernard Almonte, Gary Anderson, Jae Won Chung, William Clark, Fumie Iizuka, Mariah Young, Yuxi Wang.

The premise of the book is to show the full extent of the Tibetan conflict through 10 diverse and extremely powerful 3-minute interviews, each describing the 3 minutes that changed their lives. This idea is reflected in the covers of each booklet, which separately make beautiful abstract covers but together form to make a ‘3’.

Contributors were asked to translate these minute interviews into 16 printed page booklets using primarily typography. The result is a book made up of 10 beautifully designed booklets from some of the world’s best designers showcasing considered and stunning typography.

The book is available for £10 + p&p worldwide with all proceeds going to Tibet Relief Fund and being distributed by Subism.

The contributors to this project are Bibliotheque, Brighten the Corners, Stefan Gandl (NeubauBerlin), Alex Haigh (Thinkdust / HypeforType), ?Nick Hard (Research Studios), Jeff Knowles (Research Studios), Abbott Miller (Pentagram), Si Scott, ?Paul Skerm, Un.titled

A matchbox is the place / the receptacle for the book where takes place a story, folded in accordion (Leporello).
This new way of inscription, which was thought and created by Richard Meier finds here a new public. The various collections are co-directed and widened by Sophie Meier / Cosyworks in Pau. Today the collection presents 64 book boxes and artists.
they are, as in the Antic Greece, like some Circumstances poems, adapted to various situations. “When you look at it, it‘s an object that can be left on a table, and it looks like haïkus“, those little japanese poems.“ There may be a hundred before the end of the year.

Sophie Meier invites artist from the young creation: designers, photographers, graphic designers, stylists… and is always looking for young talents.
“I really like to discover the works of the artists. It‘s always a surprise to see what they can imagine for that little matchbox space. It‘s not that easy to work with this size, and it‘s often new for them. I also love that Leporello size. Discovering the works in an accordion way is
also a surprise.“

The Matchboox have been introduced during various exhibition in Bordeaux / France, Nimes, Amsterdam, Paris, Metz (Petit Pompidou)
The collection presents various artists such as :

Voix Editions:
Bernard Heidseick, Patrick Loste, Georges Ayats, Mario Chichorro, Hubert Lucot, Claude
Viallat…

Cosyworks:
Marie Jumelin, Monsieur Qui, Dod, Nina Juan Klein, Pawel Fabjanski, Zevs, Estelle Séré…
